Mr. Gibson is a native "Hoosier". He is a 1982 graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Finance from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Mr. Gibson worked in the retail and banking fields until enrolling in law school in 1984. He moved to Florida after obtaining his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree in 1987 from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law - Indiana University, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mr. Gibson is a founding partner of the law firm. He has practiced in Sarasota since 1988. Mr. Gibson's practice emphasizes business, real estate and commercial litigation. He is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in business litigation. As of December 2022, only 219 out of over 92,330 attorney who are members in good standing and eligible to practice in Florida have achieved this certification.

Mr. Gibson has also achieved an "AV" rating by Martindale Hubbell Law Directory, the highest rating possible based on peer and judge review. The rating signifies the highest level of professional expertise and ethical standards. In 2022, he was designated an "Elite Lawyer". In 2020, Mr. Gibson was named an Elite Top Attorney Honoree as designated by SRQ Magazine. Mr. Gibson has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1987. He is also a member of the Bar of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Federal District Courts of the Middle District of Florida. He is a long-standing member of the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Mr. Gibson is happily married with three adult sons and two adult step daughters. He has coached youth sports for many years and is a longtime supporter of The Suncoast Youth Basketball League.
